Despite sweltering heat these past few days, I thought it was time to do another outdoor photo-shoot! This time we have Kotobukiya’s 1/8 Asuna figure.
She’s quite a pretty figure, although somehow the face seems a bit off to me. Overall I’m satisfied with the detail.
Went to a nearby park to take these photos. It really was hot, I think it was almost 100 degrees (37C) today! I was kind of scared bringing out a figure in heat like this, but everything went smoothly.
Love the base for this figure.
Taking pictures of figures outdoors is always a fun task. It’s nice to be able to get some fresh air and some nice scenery for figure photos. Hopefully I can fit in more outdoor shoots while the weather is still good.
This figure seems to fit nicely in an outdoor setting which is always a plus.
Sometimes getting a good shot means lying down in the dirt, but most often the greater the challenge the greater the reward.
I find most times with outdoor shoots aren’t terribly time-consuming. The hardest part is finding good spots to shoot, which takes up a good bulk of the time it takes. The actual photographing is relatively quick, normally I just take a bunch of photos at different angles, distances, etc and hope for something good. The most time consuming part is the image processing.
Usually taking more care when photographing saves me time in processing, but on a hot day like today I just wanted to get the shots and run back into the Air Conditioning ^^.
Decided to throw in some of the Sword Art Online UI elements that I used in my Asuna Nendoroid shoot.
Hope you enjoyed the photos! Thanks for looking~
She sure has a nice detail on her armor and I like her flowing hair. It’d be nice if there’s a Kirito figure to match Asuna figures.
I enjoy your outdoor photos and it makes me miss taking outdoor shoots, it’s rainy season in my country and it’s kind of hard to go to the nearest park lately.
My fave are 9,12 and the last photo. I wish I can make and add that SAO ui elements in my photos soon. 😀
Thanks! There is something about taking photos of your figures outside that really makes for a nice combination. Outdoor photos are always fun to do when the weather is nice.
Koto figures are rather tough, but 37°C? da hell is that hot XD
We have the same temperatures here, only for a short period of weeks.
The figure is nice, I totally like her dress with the nice details here and there.
Also her face is pretty, hmm I thought about what you meant with “her face is a little off.
At first I thought it was missing blush, but it’s there, then after I compared a few illustrations I noticed that the lines under her eyebrows are darker and more prominent in her anime.
The fourth picture is my fave, I just love cute and pretty faces like this.
The effect in the last one is cool ^^
Thank you! Yeah luckily the figure held up to the heat, I was a bit nervous but it turned out fine. She’s definitely a nice figure, although as you mentioned the face could probably use some improvement.
