As the summer starts to wind down, the beginning of August brings not only hot & humid weather, but also the largest anime convention on the East Coast. As almost 30,000 congoers tried to cool down with some ice cold water (for only $1), Otakon 2016 started up without a hitch this past weekend!

Castle Point Anime Convention 2016
This past weekend I finally got a chance to make it over to the Castle Point Anime Con, a student-run convention taking place in Hoboken NJ. This is my first time checking out CPAC as I’ve never been able to make it in past years since it’s only a one-day event (Sunday). Luckily I had some time this weekend to check it out, and got the chance to take few pictures!
Waku Waku +NYC 2015
One of the events that I’ve been looking forward to for a while now is Waku Waku +NYC, an anime / Japanese pop culture event located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. NYC has been long overdue for a dedicated anime event ever since NYCC ate up the New York Anime Festival, and it looks like Waku Waku is the answer to the lack of anime events.
AnimeNEXT 2015 Cosplay
Over the past three days have been a ton of fun, since this past weekend was AnimeNEXT! This is my second time coming to animenext, and I must say that it was a really fun convention. While it is a smaller con compared to others, animenext definitely has more of a community feel to it. As with any convention, there’s bound to be a ton of cosplay out and about. This particular con is a great place for cosplay due to all the green space around the convention which makes for really great backdrops. This post is basically just a dump of cosplay pics taken over the weekend, starting off with this beautiful Princess Mononoke cosplay!

Since this was my first year attending this convention it was a total sensory overload between all the cosplayers, happenings, and excitement that was otakon. Still, I tried to take as many pictures as I could so that I could share them with everyone!

Today we’re going to start with a post dedicated to the Kill la Kill photoshoot / meetup since there’s a ton of pictures. Anyone who follows me on twitter/tumblr knows I’m a huge Kill la Kill fan, so it was an awesome experience to attend the Kill la Kill photoshoot. Enjoy!
