Nikon D5100

Nikon D5100 Box

At long last, I got myself a DSLR! After renting the 60D which I used for the past two posts I decided it was definitely time to get myself a good camera. After saving up some cash, I made the jump and purchased a Nikon D5100. I’ve been wanting to post more on here, but I really wanted to upgrade to a better camera first.

Here’s the camera itself… probably one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. While DSLR’s are expensive, after using one I think they are totally worth the money. After using a point and shoot camera for so long, a DSLR is definitely a huge upgrade.

It’s so great to be able to have so much control over the camera. I still need to learn all the controls and such, but it shouldn’t be too hard if I actually read the manual.

Nikkor 55-200mm Lens

I bought a package deal which included another lens, a Nikkor 55-200mm zoom lens. As I’m finding out good camera lenses get to be very expensive ^^. I’ll probably stick these two lenses for now.

Of course I had to take the camera for a test run. Below are some test photos on various figures and such. I think they turned out pretty nice!

I’m very excited to be able to finally own a DSLR camera, it’s almost a kind of relief to be in control of your photos. Hopefully this will lead to more posts as I’m very pleased with how the pictures come out. Look forward to more photos!
